Agile for the Win
gile methods and leadership entered my professional life in the mid 1990s. Ever since then I have been studying and applying them.
As for so many others, my agile journey started with Scrum and Kanban. Recently I took the step from the project level to the organizational level. To do so, one needs a framework which allows and enables scaling these methods.
The best and most widely used one is SAFe® (Scaled Agile Framework). I started reading and understanding it a few years back, continued to use it – or rather parts of it – occasionally and then decided to commit to it.
Learning & Understanding
he first step in this direction was to become a Certified SAFe® Agilist (CSA). This helped me a lot in understanding the finer points and intricacies of the framework.
But I wanted more. I wanted to be able to help others recognize the potential of SAFe® and – after that – help them to implement it.
Teaching & Implementing
onsequently, I went ahead and became a Certified SAFE®Program Consultant (SPC).
While being an SA is really good for understanding the lean-agile principles better, as a Program Consultant I got trained to train others. This allows me to spread the word, share my own knowledge with others and enable them to get certified, and – much more important – to improve how their respective organizations work.
I am now helping companies by guiding them through the whole change process of becoming a lean-agile organization and get all the related benefits from this transformation.
